The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship , commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2020 or simply Euro 2020 , is scheduled to be the 16th UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
๐ The tournament was originally scheduled to take place from 12 June to 12 July 2020. On 17 March 2020, UEFA announced that it would be delayed by a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, and proposed it take place from 11 June to 11 July 2021 (this date can still be subjected to changes).
The tournament, where 20 qualified teams will despute for the title of 2020 European Champions (and more), will be held in 12 different cities in 12 UEFA countries (with the possibility of the number of cities being reduced).
