“Do you participate in any sports?” Over the years, I have frequently encountered this question, and each time I am at a loss as to how to answer. I've been skateboarding for about six years, and even though it was recently added to the Olympics, I still see it as a pastime rather than a sport. I see skateboarding more as a competition against oneself than as a competition against others. The most important thing for me is how far you can push your boundaries and how much fun you can have. Why do people begin skateboarding? In addition to acquiring a cool and remarkable pastime, skateboarding may teach crucial life skills such as perseverance and self-assurance, as well as a sense of success and pleasure.
