Africa is a motherland because she has given birth to
so many nations. Referring to Africa as our
motherland is meant to adore her, to give her the credence she
deserves. It is to acknowledge how well she has nurtured us as a mother
nurtures her newborn child. Our ethnic heritages we have today are like
the offsprings of her, as a mother gives birth to many children. The
African people consider her as a motherland because she has
been their own heritage. They dine in her generosity, her fertile soil
has nourished their vegetation and has blossomed our plants and animals.
We have been blessed with lots of resources and our continent has been
providing for us since the agrarian era and till today, we have rich
resources to cater for all our needs like a mother provides and ensures
the safety of her children. We call her mama Africa, we
call her "MOTHER".
