Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park is an American national park located in northwestern Montana, on the Canada—United States border. Glacier National Park borders Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada—the two parks are known as the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park and were designated as the world's first International Peace Park in 1932. In total, the park encompasses over 1 million acres, includes parts of two mountain ranges, over 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals.

Glacier National Park is dominated by mountains which were carved into their present shapes by the huge glaciers of the last ice age. These glaciers have largely disappeared over the last 12,000 years. There are only 25 active glaciers that remain today. Make this park a priority for your next adventure, as studies show, these glaciers will all disappear by the year 2030.
