Tawny Owl

Owls are incredible birds, not only are the associated with ancient myths & legends (Victorian's knew them as harbingers of death), they are also one of nature’s best adapted predators. Owls have soft serrated feathers to muffle sound allowing them to fly virtually silently. They can rotate their heads 270° due to unique neck bone structure, combined with asymmetrical ears to help them pinpoint the exact location of prey. They have one sensory weakness, their eyes are immobile within their eye sockets, which whilst giving them exceptional long distance perception, renders them virtually blind at short distance - there is hope for the mice after all!
