Barking Owls are native to Australia and are known for their 'barking' call, which sounds just like a dog! They are also famous for a high-pitched scream, that has earned it the name 'Screaming-woman bird'.

Barking owls are skilled silent predators, they have large shart talons and thier heads can turn up to 270 degrees. They have a carnivourous diet consisting of insects, reptiles, other birds and even possums. They like to hunt in open woodlands.
