Hiking the Western Arthurs Traverse
Making my dream come true in 2026
Hiking is one of my favourite things to do. 🥾🏕
My partner and I began hiking during in 2022, as a healthy way to
connect with nature. As we became more experienced hikers, our journeys
turned into multi-day thrills. That's when we picked a north-star to aim
towards.
Western Arthurs Traverse is officially Oceana's toughest and the most spectacular trail. It's breathtaking views have been compared to
mythalogical sights. Though the journey can be heavenly, it carries
serious risks. Each year, a handful fo people get airlifted due to
injuries and a few pass away, while attempting to cross the traverse.
The trail is not for the faint hearted. However, we believe that we can
complete it!
So far, my partner and I hiked...
- Kangaroo Valley Loop in Morton National Park (50km) in 3 days (July 2023)
- Gibraltar-Washpool World Heritage Walk (50km) in 3 days (September 2023)
- Coastal Track in Royal National Park (60km) in 2 days (August 2024)
- Coastal Track in Innes National Park (40km) in 1 day (October 2024)
- South Coast Track in Tasmania (87km) in 7 days (December 2024)
- Rees-Dart Track in New Zealand (70km) in 4 days (April 2025)
We are currently going through a heavy training for an epic adventure in Tasmania. In February 2026, our ambitious goal is to hike through the Western Arthurs Traverse in 7 days, then the Mt Anne Circuit in 3 days.
