About Us

We're Doa (Smokey 🔥) and David (Sweaty 💦). We've been together for over 5 years, with excellent references and police checks.

Our nicknames come from our hiking and camping adventures. Other than being avid hikers, we are remote-working professionals in tech, and have a long history of house sitting. It's a great way to experience different parts of the world, while spending more time with furry friends.

David's parents were vets and have owned clinics around Australia and New Zealand. While growing up, David had a maltese terrier (Snowy), two cats (Rosie and Lavender), two fish (Goldie and Silvie). Then as a teenager, a chihuahua (Radar, named due to the over-sized ears), and a domestic long haired cat (named Gingernuts, or Ginger after the necessary precautions).

Doa's mum is a former vet. In her late teens, she spent 3 years travelling around Australia doing house sitting with her parents. She looked after dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits, chicken, turtles, a gecko, a snake, and horses over 50 houses (with a lot of repeat stays).

We understand that every household is unique, so our priority will always be the health and happiness of your pets, and to maintain your pre-established routines. This also includes gardening, pool maintenance, collecting parcels/mail and taking the pets to the vet. If you miss your furry babies during your holidays, we have several methods of communication to keep in touch.
