The Temple of Demetra

In a little-known place, just an hour outside of Rome, is the medieval town of Vetralla. Vetralla can be found in what used to be the heart of Etruria. Although it is often over-looked, particularly when compared to the grand ruins of Rome, it nonetheless houses its own ancient secret.

Discovered only in 2006, in the midst of dense woodland, the temple was found relatively intact and had been unopened for over 2,300 years! Unlike more popular archaeoloigical discoveries, the Temple of Demetra remains relatively untouched by tourists and is still an adventure to find and explore all by yourself! So, put on your most convincing Indiana Jones style hat and discover a true ancient secret!
