Joana Gama (Braga, 1983) is a Portuguese pianist who develops multiple projects, either solo or in collaborations in the areas of cinema, dance, theatre, photography and music. PhD from the University of Évora, she continues her research as a member of CESEM / NOVA FCSH. Although she initially decided to dedicate herself to music in order to continue the heritage associated with a certain idea of ​​classical music - piano recitals with a canonical repertoire - a series of chain events led her away from a path she thought was her own. That is why the last few years - in addition to the recitals, which he continues to enjoy doing - have included collaborations with Luís Fernandes, João Godinho, Rafael Toral, Drumming GP, Eduardo Brito, Tânia Carvalho, Victor Hugo Pontes, João Fiadeiro, João Botelho, Manuel Mozos, Sopa de Pedra, which results has been regularly presented in Portugal and abroad. Erik Satie, The peripathetic, the piano recital she presented in 2010 at the Centro Cultural de Belém dedicated to the music of Erik Satie is still bearing fruit. In these 10 years, she marked the 150th anniversary of the composer in 2016 with SATIE.150, released two albums (SATIE.150 and Arcueil), coordinated the edition of the book Embryons desséchés and has presented commented recitals for adults and children. She played the piece Vexations on three occasions - Jardins Efémeros Festival, 2016; Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, 2018; Atelier Re.al with João Fiadeiro, 2019 - in performances that lasted 15h, 14h and 7h respectively. Her discography is present in the labels Shhpuma, Room40, mpmp, Pianola, Grand Piano e Boca/Douda Correria.
