Border Collie and an
English Springer Spaniel
This combination yields a highly intelligent,

active families and first-time dog owners who can provide ample
exercise and mental stimulation.
What is a Sprollie's temperament like?
Sprollies are energetic, intelligent dogs, inheriting their liveliness
and smarts from both the Collie and Springer Spaniel. They require not
just daily physical exercise but also plenty of mental stimulation to
stay happy and well-behaved. A tired Sprollie is a joy to have around,
while a bored one can become destructive.
Training should start as soon as puppies arrive home and continue
after vaccination, ideally with puppy classes to help socialize them
in a structured environment. Though alert to strangers, Sprollies are
too friendly to be effective watchdogs—an endearing trait. They’re
best suited to active owners, as they thrive on outdoor activity and
companionship.
Early socialization is key for them to grow into confident,
well-adjusted adults. This includes exposure to various environments,
people, and other animals. Sprollies need clear leadership within the
household; without it, they may assume a dominant role, making them
harder to manage.
