The “chimarrão” or "mate" is a typical drink of the Southern culture of South America. Especially drink in the South of Brazil, in the state called Rio Grande do Sul. It's a very special type of a drink because it has kinda of a ritual in drinking it. The gaúchos (people from this state) take it very serious drinking it, usually drink with some fiends, but everyday. It consists of a gourd, a pump, ground yerba mate and very hot water.
