A fan club for the greatest planet in our Solar System!
Jupiter is the largest planet in our Solar System and
the fifth from the Sun. It's a gas giant, meaning it's primarily
composed of hydrogen and helium with a small rocky core. Jupiter has a
mass more than twice that of all the other planets in the Solar System
combined.
Key features of Jupiter:
Size and Mass:
Jupiter's diameter is eleven times that of Earth and its mass is more
than 2.5 times the total mass of all other planets.
Composition:
It's primarily composed of hydrogen and helium, with a rocky core at
its center.
Atmosphere:
Jupiter's atmosphere is characterized by swirling clouds and bands of
color.
Moons:
It has at least 95 known moons, with 53 of them having names.
Rings:
Jupiter has faint rings, which are not as prominent as Saturn's.
Great Red Spot:
A massive, long-lasting storm in Jupiter's atmosphere, which is larger
than Earth.
