Crochet is a type of craft similar to knitting, except instead of using two needles, you use a single hook - in fact the word 'crochet' means 'hook' in French! Yarn is looped repeatedly in various ways to create anything from fashion garments to blankets or soft toys. Whilst seeming rather complex at first - at its heart, crochet is a wonderfully relaxing past-time; the rhythmic nature of looping the stitches is a great physical outlet for the many worries or thoughts whirring around in our heads. It's both technical and creative - with a variety of stitches out there to learn and an endless range of yarns and colours to choose from. It's also incredibly satisfying to make something you can eventually use or wear in your day-to-day life!
