You will be required to measure garments by following a specific list of measurement points. It does require a little pracitce but once you get familar with measuring points and fractions, you will be an integral part of the manufacturing ecosystem in fashion.
Sourcing:
This will require a little more training but ultimately you learn along the way as well. It requires to contact vendors for fabric, trims and perhaps dyes that are essential to the design team. You will have daily communication with the design team as well as the production team and organization is key.
Sample Room Coordinator:
Organization being key is a given in this industry, as there are many moving parts, however, when it comes to the Sample Room, it is vital. Your job here requires you to keep track of any and all samples that go in and out of this room. They can be organized by season, silhouette or fabric soemtimes. Most companies give you the liberty to follow your preferred method, as long as you know where each sample is when needed.
