Carlos Alcaraz has advanced to his third
consecutive Barcelona Open final after a commanding 6-2, 6-4 victory over
Arthur Fils in the semifinals.
This win extends his current winning streak to nine matches and
marks his third ATP final of the 2025 season, following earlier appearances
in Rotterdam and Monte Carlo.
In the upcoming final, Alcaraz will face Denmark's Holger Rune, who
secured his spot by defeating Karen Khachanov 6-3, 6-2. Rune is returning to
a clay-court final for the first time since Rome 2023 and is set to re-enter
the ATP Top 10 rankings
Alcaraz previously
won the Barcelona Open titles in 2022 and 2023. A victory this year would
make him the first player since Mats Wilander to win the tournament three
times in the Open Era, excluding Rafael Nadal.
