The Big Island is seriously BIG. It is over 4,000 square miles and has 63% of the Hawaiian archipelago's combined landmass and is the largest island in the United States.
The island is famous for its natural attractions, especially volcanoes that have shaped the landscape. Originally formed by five volcanoes, the island still continues to grow as the active Kilauea spews lava into the ocean.
Other attractions include lush jungles and cascading waterfalls, and white sandy beaches.
