What is Flight Nursing?

Flight nurses work in aeromedical environments, transporting patients by plane ( private or commercial aircraft), ground ambulance and/or helicopter to or from medical facilities (locally or abroad). Flight nurse responsibilities include:

Transporting patients safely

Performing emergency medical care in confined spaces

Stabilizing and preparing patients for transfer

Responding to medical emergencies during flight

Providing reassurance and comfort to the patient and their family
