Classical Dance

Kathak is one of the nine major forms of Indian classical dance.The word Kathak comes from the word "Katha" which means "story". The dance originated with the traveling bards of ancient northern India known as Kathakar. It is characterized by intricate footwork, expressive gestures, and storytelling, often accompanied by classical music.
