Collage art

Collage art describes both the technique and the resulting work of art
in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera
are arranged and stuck down onto a supporting surface.

It is only about a century old and was 'initiated' by cubist
Georges Braque, who was inspired by a wallpaper shop in Avignon.
The technique holds creative power to this day to reinterpret aspects
of our everyday lives.
