Parkrun rocks!

Every Saturday at 9am, people from all over the world take part in a free, 5km event called parkrun.

The first parkrun was held in 2004 in Bushy Park, England, it had 13 runners. In 2024 parkrun celebrated its 20th anniversary and now has over nine million registered participants. The first event outside of the UK was in Zimbabwe in 2007. There are now parkruns in 23 different countries and junior 2k parkruns for under 15's that take place on Sunday mornings.

Parkruns are completely free and entirely staffed by volunteers. Whether you run, walk, jog or volunteer, it's a brilliant way to start your weekend.
