About Me

Hi! As mentioned, you can call me Maria.

I was born in the Philippines and have just recently moved to the Netherlands. With my migration, I have been taking the time to learn the language and also pick up new skills so that I can build a career here.

I loooove animals and have a huge heart for them. Do you know how some people have "green thumbs"? I probably have the counterpart of that for animals. Growing up, any animal that I raised really lived years with me! I've had pet dogs, cats, birds, fishes, rabbits, ducks, and even chickens! Nope, I didn't live on a farm but even ducklings and chicks grew up to be full-grown animals in my care!

As for my other hobbies and interests, I enjoy traveling, photography, food, and learning languages.
I'm glad these all fit together whenever I travel.

My favority travel destination? That's a no-brainer! Definitely Japan! It has the complete package for me - beautiful scenery, lovely weather, delicious food, and the kindest people! Traveling in Japan is what inspired me to learn the language and interact with the locals.

What do I do during my free time? I still enjoy learning languages. My native language is English and all the other foreign languages that I know, I learned purely through self-study. So now, even as I "Netflix and chill", I like to take that as an opportunity to learn languages by watching foreign language films. So far, Dutch seems to be the hardest language for me to learn but I hope to reach native fluency with it eventually.
