Never jump roped before? No problem! Here are my top tips to get started
(slowly). The biggest risk is doing too much too soon which can
sometimes lead to painful shin splints.
Use a plastic beaded rope and not a super skinny speed rope
Size your rope! Knot or cut down the length so when standing on the
rope, the top of the handle bards come to your chest
Start slow to build tolerance. A good formula is 30 second on, 30
seconds off for 5 minutes.
Keep your elbows in and use your wrists to swing the rope, not your
arms
Stay light, jumping from the balls of your feet
No need to jump really high. Just enough to clear the rope.
