For the love of D🍩ughnuts

Especially Ring Doughnuts

Doughnuts are deep fried cakes which were introduced to America by the Dutch in New Netherlands as "oliekoecken" (oil cakes or fried cakes). Doughnuts were typically made of yeast dough rich in eggs and butter, spices, dried fruit and their final dusting of sugar. The timeless ring-like appearance of a doughnut was invented by Captain Hanson Gregory. His remarkakable invention was necessary as the exterior part of the doughnut would usually cook before the inner part did. Fortunately, adding the hole in the center of the doughnut eliminated this problem. Today in the UK, the classic ring doughnuts are sold in many supermarkets including Waitrose, Sainsburys, ASDA, Tesco and M&S. Why don't you treat yourself to a doughnut today! 😋
