Oh how I 💖 You!

I know what you're thinking: 'Who doesn't love their city?' But I'm not here just to talk about why I love Chicago — I'm here to show you why you might want to experience it too. By the end of this, who knows? Maybe you'll add it to your travel list, and we could even cross paths here one day!

If you love art, interesting architecture, food and beautiful scenery around the city. You'd love Chicago! While you could experience this anywhere in the world, us Chicagoans have a way of putting our own flavor to it.

If you prefer to take the tourist route, you should definitely check out the Art Institute of Chicago, WNDR Museum or the Museum Of Contemporary Art Chicago. But I'd recommend checking out some of the local art galleries as well, like Gallery Guichard and Gallery 400.

I have a question for you! Ever watched "Transformers: Dark of the Moon" or "Transformers: Age of Extinction?" Ooo how about "The Dark Knight?" If you've watched any of these films, you've got a glimpse of Chicago. "Transformers" will show you how beautiful the architecture of our buildings are. You'll see Art Deco, Contemporary, Gothic Revival, International and Modern style buildings (psst...we even have a boat tour that'll lead the way right through the Chicago River)! But my favorite building is the Sears Tower, towering over the city at 1,451 ft amaking it the third tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Just a little warning, you may hear some people call it "Willis Tower" and rightfully so, because that's it's name. But to a true Chicagoan, it will always be known as the Sears Tower.

While the art and architecture is breathtaking, I think what you'll love most about Chicago is the food! We have so many different options around the city. Of course we have your typical mainstream spots, but you want to try some good food, visit the hidden gems neighborhoods. Hyde Park is like a mini downtown, filled with a variety of restaurants everything ranging from "Virtue Restaurant" (Southern cusine), "The Nile of Hyde Park" (Middle Eastern), "Chant" (Asian Fusion), and "Chemistry" (Steakhouse). In 2022 Bronzeville Winery opened which is located in Bronzeville. It isn’t just about wine though—it’s about community, history, and the incredible journey of one of the city’s black-owned businesses that added something new and different to the neighborhood!

While I can't cover everything since this is just the landing page, but it's a start. Who knows a Tumblr or even a website may be the next step for me. But in the meantime, if you want to experience a visual taste of Chicago check out my VSCO page below.
Thanks for reading about my city and my love for my city. I hope you enjoyed the read and the visual!
