Welcome to New Zealand Wines!

New Zealand is home to a variety of many types of wine, grown throughout distinctive different regions throughout the country.

The origin of New Zealand's wine industry is 1819, when Rev. Reverend Samuel Marsden started the first vines on the North Island. Today, there is approximately 87000 acres with 12 distinct regions in the country, extending all the way from the Northlands, all the way down to Central Otago, which are the most southerly vineyards in the world. Pair this with a humid climate encompassing the country, lots of sunshine and favorable soil, and you have a recipe that makes for a booming industry.
