Adopt, Don't Shop!

The "Adopt, Don't Shop" campaign raises awareness about the benefits of rescuing shelter animals instead of animals from pet stores. For example, many puppies sold in pet stores or online are from puppy mills, which focus on increasing profit with little regard for the health of the animal. A vast majority of puppy mills are not regulated. Dogs live in dirty environments without enough food, water, or vet care. By adopting a pet from a shelter, you can help put puppy mills out of business.
