Wondering what the heck is an interpreter?

Do you remember Nicole Kidman's movie, The Interpreter?

Kinda, but not exactly. So interpreters are like translators, but we work with the spoken word. You may remember us for being that voice you hear inside your head whenever you attend an event where languages other than your own are spoken. There a couple of types of interpretation - or modalities as we call them - i.e. simultaneous and consecutive - we'll go into detail about them later on.
