What is midnight sun?

Midnight sun, also called polar day is a phenomena that occurs in polar regions such as in Svalbard, Norway located at 78 ° N. I had the privilege of spending my summer here to study Arctic geology and was able to experience it firsthand. There is no night time in the summer and the opposite occurs in the winter where daytime is nonexistent.

Fun fact: There are more polar bears than people that live in this town so you need to take a rifle training course to carry a firearm and a flare for when you go out of town.
