Music has a vast and continuously expanding definition. With countless
variations of sounds, forms, harmonies, melodies and rhythms, creative
expression knows no bounds. Compositions, improvisation and performance
make music a powerful art-form. Countless genres (about 1 300!) can
satisfy any musical taste. Since the beginning of time, cultures and
societies have used music to communicate, celebrate, heal (therapy,
rituals and religion) and entertain. Music is a common language, that
touches people in ways that words can’t always express.
