BTS (Korean: 방탄소년단; RR: Bangtan Sonyeondan; lit. Bulletproof Boy Scouts), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010. The group is made up of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, all of whom are involved in writing or producing their own music. While BTS initially began as a hip hop group, they have since embraced a variety of musical styles. Their songs explore subjects such as mental health, the challenges of youth, self-discovery, individualism, and the effects of fame. Their work frequently draws inspiration from literature, philosophy, psychology, and even features a complex alternate universe storyline.
