The Water Festival is the New Year's
celebrations that take place in Southeast Asian nations such as
Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand as well as among the Dai
people of China. This festival usually occurs in middle of April.
The act of pouring water is also a show of cleansings, blessings and
good wishes. This festival, Thingyan called in Myanmar is public
holiday, from 13 April to 17 April in 2019. The period of holidays
are the most important and the biggest festival in Myanmar. Thingyan
allows people to celebrate the Burmese New Year. Thingyan is a time
for happiness and friendly attitudes.
