The art of ceramics
Ceramics refers to objects made from clay and other inorganic materials that are shaped and then hardened by heat.
- Materials: Primarily made from clay, but can include other minerals and metal oxides.
- Shaping: Clay is molded, thrown on a pottery wheel, or formed using other techniques.
- Drying: The shaped clay is left to dry.
- Firing: The dried clay is heated in a kiln at high temperatures (typically over 1000°C).
