Panopoulos, along with his brothers, operated the Satellite Restaurant in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. Panopoulos drew inspiration from Chinese cuisine, which often combined sweet and savory flavors. He experimented with pairing pineapple with ham or bacon on a pizza, creating a unique flavor profile that would become synonymous with Hawaiian pizza.
