I love Pete
(He is my dog)
Pete is a medium sized Podengo Pequeno, a Portuguese type of dog bred
for hunting. He looks abit like a Jack Russell Terrier, but he is much
larger, despite his very short legs. Pete wasn´t at all good at hunting
- ideologically he is a complete pacifist - and so he was
abandoned by his breeder.
He was found begging for scraps of food
outside a Lidl shop in Tabua, Central Portugal. His face was cut and
scarred and he was very frightened. He was taken to a pound sponsored by
Adoption Dogs Portugal and there he was cared for by a kind Dutch lady.
She called him "Jack".
A little time later I found him while searching for a new companion. I
adopted him, renamed him "Pete", and now we are living happily ever
after!
