Ballet is a light, lively and romantic dance. Ballet originated in Italy
but flourished in France. Some of its dances can be traced back to the
dances of ancient Greece. Ballet is the transliteration of the French
"ballet", and its etymology is the Italian "balletto", which is the
diminutive word for ballo, which means "dance". Ballet is a kind of
modern musical accompaniment with unpretentious costumes and stage
scenery.
