Nothing really beats your first time experiencing the Eastern highlands of Zimbabwe. We were welcomed at Far and Wide Zimbabwe by the harsh rainy weather we were not used to but as the days wore on, the skies became brighter. The fourth day saw us embarking on one of the dreaded hikes at Far and Wide: The infamous 22km hike. The hike can only be described as: tough, painful, tiresome but in the end, it was all worth it. The views Nyanga has to offer are spectacular and our halfway mark gave us access to the views of the highest point in Zimbabwe, Mt Inyangani. Our complaining forgotten, everyone took the opportunity to video call their loved ones to share the breath-taking scenery before our eyes. As for our walk back to camp, it surprisingly became easier with the joy we had shared together.
