My Favourite Music Genres

Listening to music is one of my favourite passtimes and passions. On this page I have compiled a list of my favourite genres in no particular order.
At the end I have also included a playlist I created some time ago of my favourite songs from my country, Zimbabwe Enjoy!

• Afrobeats

  Afrobeats is a very popular genre in Africa originating from Nigeria. In recent years it has become popular outside of Africa.
  I prefer the Afrobeats from about 3 years ago and earlier as almost all the more recent Afrobeats songs mix with the also trending Amapiano genre.
  You can really get a feel of original Afrobeats if you listen to songs from 2020 and earlier.

• Post-hardcore

  I started listening to rock music when I was 14 years old, especially post-harcore rock. I like it because it's that nice middle ground between hard rock genres and soft rock genres. .

• Hip Hop/Rap

  Hip hop music originated from African American culture in New York. Since then, it has become one of the most listened to genres of today,
  with countries all over the world partaking in it - including Zimbabwe.

• Gospel Music

  I started listening to Gospel music after I got saved im 2019. It really helps you feel closer to God. Gospel artists
  have this amazing talent of being able to express emotions and gratitude towards God through music.
  Gospel music can be in any genre, even rock!

• Amapiano

  Amapiano originates from South Africa and is also globally recognized as of the past 3 years.
  This is also my little brother's favourite genre😄

• Sungura and Trap-Sungura/TrapSu

  Sungura is a Zimbabwean music genre from the 1970s. Trap-sungura is a modern take on Sungura music made by the Gen Z population of Zimbabwe. The founder of this new sound is Tanto Wavie, a popular Zimbabwean artists.
