✨✨✨Welcome, !✨✨✨
According to Oxford Languages, Astrology is "the study of the movements and relative positions of celestial
bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world."
In the statement above, the writer has used the word "interpreted" since Astrology isn't seen as a science
within the science community. It is viewed as more of a religious/spiritual practice. Astrology can be found in
many rich and infused cultures and religions. I believe that it is such a beautiful topic to learn about.
The type of Astrology that I will be explaining is Western Astrology because it is the one I know most of. I
look forward to learning more about it and also diving in to other atrologies such as Vedic Astrology.
Astrology charts are depicted as a circle cut into 12 houses. Each house has a specific meaning, such as the
first house is appearance & identity and the second house is finance & possessions.
Each sign represents characteristics. The sign (or house ruler) that resides in the first house is based on an
individuals's date and time of birth. The other signs, in the order of the zodiac, follow in the subsequent
houses.
The planets or celestrial bodies represent the aspects that make a person, such as the Sun is ego and the Moon
is emotions. At the exact time of an individual's birth, the planets were in specific houses and they take on
the characteristics of the corresponding sign.
For example: An individual's chart has their Moon in their 2nd house of Virgo. This means that
the way they process emotions and show emotions is of a Virgo. This also means that the way they earn, spend,
save money is of a Virgo because of Virgo being the second house ruler.
