The Dachshund
Curious/Friendly/Spunky
The Dachshund, also known as the wiener dog or sausage dog, badger dog and doxie,
is a short-legged, long-bodied, hound-type dog breed. The dog may be smooth-haired,
wire-haired, or long-haired. Coloration varies. The dachshund was bred to scent, chase,
and flush out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals. Dachshunds have an excellent
sense of smell and a strong prey drive. They are good house pets. However, the do tend
to bark a lot.
