You will need 1 cup of almond flour, 1 and 3/4 cups of powdered sugar, 3 large egg whites at room temperature, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and a few drops of food coloring for the macaron shells. For the buttercream filling, you'll need 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter, 1 and 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 1-2 tablespoons of milk or heavy cream.

  1. Gather your ingredients.
  2. Sift almond flour and powdered sugar together.
  3. Whisk egg whites and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Gently fold in the dry ingredients.
  5. Pipe little circles onto a baking sheet.
  6. Let them rest until they’re smooth on top.
  7. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 12-15 minutes.
  8. Cool and fill with yummy goodness!
