The Era of Online Theatre

A sketch of Drury Lane Theatre from 1821

The pandemic has changed our everyday life, and we can’t attend concerts, festivals, theatre, therefore it is crucial to fill that gap in our lives.
If we also can help out our favourite theatres with buying a ticket for a pre recorded show, that’s even better.
Maybe your local theatre has that option.

Thankfully, there are loads of sites, players, platforms where anyone can watch every kind of productions,
but here I’m showing only a few of my favourite ones.

My number one website that existed before the pandemic is dedicated to Operas.
Even if you say, you don’t like this genre, you should check out this website, because at least half of the productions are exceptionally directed and well played.
And as a bonus, it’s completely free.

View your favourite performances, subtitled, on demand. Learn about the art form and specific productions by browsing our richly populated digital library, stories, and articles. Discover resources for young audiences and for artistic career development. In English, French, and German, thoughtfully curated, and free to browse and explore.

It has a chunk of Royal Shakespeare Company shows, plus a lot of opera and dance from across the globe. David Tennant in Richard II is the pick of the RSC.

It costs £8.99 a month or £69.99 a year, but it’s offering a 30-day free trial during the pandemic.

At Cirque du Soleil, we offer an escape from everyday life through the delight and whimsy of our shows. Let us welcome you into our world where awe-inspiring show footage and fan favorite videos will transport you. Just for you, from us. Enjoy!

It's also free and has lots of interesting videos.
