Afro hair, also referred to as
Kinky hair or Nappy hair, is a type of
natural hair texture that is found among black people, mostly of African
descent. This hair type is also referred to as
Type 4 (a/b/c/z) hair
according to the
Andre Walker hair typing system. Texture-wise, this hair type feels coarse and spongy to the touch, as
opposed to silky and smooth, and looks like a fluffy cloud ☁ or a ball
of cotton candy 🍭.
✨Fun Fact about Afro Hair✨
While other hair types grow down the back and towards the floor, Afro
hair tends to grow upwards and outwards, technically defying gravity,
which gives it the characteristic "Afro" round shape! This is because
the hair follicles on a head of Afro hair are curved which results in
the hair strands growing outwards, almost parallel to the scalp, and to
whirl around on itself as it grows... 😵😵😵
