馃徍 Carri贸n de Calatrava is a municipality in the province of Ciudad Real, Castile-La Mancha, Spain loaded with
history. The famous castle "Calatrava
la Vieja" is situated nearby - a medieval site which was the original nucleus of the Order of Calatrava. It is now
part of the Archaeological Parks
of the Community of Castile-La Mancha. In addition to the extraordinary castle, the surroundings of Carri贸n de
Calatrava have other archaeological finds, such
as the church of Saint James (15th cent.), the actual town hall (15th to 17th cent.) or the famous "Ba帽os del
Hervidero", whose water was believed to have healing properties for the skin. This baths are known since Roman
times and also mentioned in an anonymous collection of writings
from the 14th century.
馃Located in the centre of the city is the Naranjo winery, where some of the primitive installations are still
intact,
such as the late 19th century vat cellar, which coexists with the latest constructions from the beginning of the
21st
century. Here you can taste wines, enjoy tapas and learn more about the history of the bodega during a guided
tour.
