Katharina is a German artist mainly focussing on oil painting and portraits derived from her studies of art history, igniting her love for the Old Masters. Her vision is a new sense for aesthetic, or even, creating a New Aesthetic: Showcasing the imperfect within perfection. Would you chose to have yourself portrayed with a plaster on your finger? Presumably not. Or, would you chose a picture that shows you with a half-wiped lipstick? I guess not. But these moments, right there in the mundane, are beautiful and worth showing.
