The new SLC—available in two models, the SLC300 and the Mercedes-AMG SLC43—is set to replace the brand’s SLK, a vehicle that has sold nearly 700,000 units since it was first produced in 1996. As its replacement, the SLC will, in certain aspects, look similar to the latest SLK models. The electro-hydraulically operated metal roof is one comparable element, though, the SLC will open and close at up to 25 m.p.h., an improvement to SLK models. Another difference: The SLC has a smartly revised front section featuring a steeply raked radiator grille that comes in a range of finishes.
