Why Paris own the title 'the best Fashion Capital in the world'
French fashion has dominated the fashion world right back to when King Louis XIV ruled the country. During the time Louis was crowned King in 1943, Milan was referred to as the fashion capital of Europe, that title however was later taken by France as
King Louis XIV refused to order material goods such as (silk, lace , etc.) and instead, he took it upon himself and
heavily invested in the manufacturing industry which then led to the introduction of the mercantilism- to limit imports
and Maximise exports in order to build wealth through trade. This hugely benefited the French economy in less than a
decade as it allowed for more jobs in the country and it also increased the demands for French goods to be exported
overseas, this was unprecedented at the time. Since then, Paris has maintained its title as a fashion capital hundreds
of years later , it is a dream place for fashionistas to visit! The city is really admired for it’s status it has in fashion, therefore, lots of brands tend to include ‘Paris’ in
fashion advertisements, this word alone manages to capture people’s attention ver effectively. Paris is home to one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world , it’s a home to many well-known
fashion brands as well as the oldest fashion brand, it's a home to many amazing boutiques and it’s a home to highly-credited fashion schools. There’s no
place like Paris when it comes to fashion!
