Violins. Those things made of wood with four strings. Players of which can quite easily be called "screechfiers" when first learning the instrument, running the risk of "running foul of the law" of their family's or their neighbours hearing. But once perfected, even at a beginners level, the sound of this instrument, which has been styled as the "nearest to the human voice" is actually quite an emoitve and versatile instrument.
Now before all that, you may well be asking. "Ermmmm...why all this "sales pitch" when I don't know the first thing about this instrument?". There are several sizes of the violin, and it is imperative that you start out on your journey with the right one. The largest size is 4/4, what we call full size, which tend to cater for children over the age of 12 up to adult. The other main ones are three quarter size (3/4), half size (1/2), and quarter size (1/4).
