The millennial generation is taking the interior design game by storm. When I moved into my very first apartment last year, I developed a bit of an obssession with interior design. I was constantly looking at furniture, decor, and social media posts for inspiration for my own place. I took little pieces of inspiration from every "style" and created my own customized living space that felt like me.
Let's take a look at some of my favorite interior design styles from the last decade.
My favorite part of this particular aesthetic are the classic Breuer chairs. They really bring a room together and double not only as seats but also the focal point of the room. Something as small as the softened edges on the chairs is also a nice contrast to the sharper touches of the rest of the furniture.
I would describe this decor as part castle, part library. I love the classical and vintage elements and luxurious finishes that add a touch of richness to the entire space. By keeping the decor simple and few, it keeps the room from feeling too stuffy.
Minimalist decor can easily become too cold and sterile for my taste but this particular set up is warmed up by the earthy tones. The large plants nicely break up the large, blank walls. Green is a great addition to any space. I would argue that green is as functional as black and white: it goes with everything.
