Aim: To use all letter tiles and score the
highest number of Scrabble points.
Set up
2-4 Players (or teams) can play. Each player chooses 7 letter tiles at
random from the central pile (tiles face down or in a bag) and places them
on their rack. To determine the order of play, each player picks a random
tile; play order is determined by alphabetical order of these tiles.
Game play
During each turn, players make words using the tiles on their rack,
placing tiles on the board and recording the total Scrabble point score of
the word they play during each turn. Special score squares on the
gameboard can only be claimed once, by the first player who places a tile
on them. When players use tiles on the board, they have to replace them
with the same number of tiles from the central pile. Rare letters score
more points when used. Proper nouns are not allowed, nor are
abbreviations. At the end, when no more words can be played, players
deduct the Scrabble points of tiles left on their rack from their total
score. The player (or team) with the highest score wins.
